Volunteer Opportunities

Deck the Halls" 5th Annual Festival of Trees - Nov. 16, 2007 at the Elks Lodge, Hecker Pass Rd., Gilroy 95020. Our annual Festival of Trees raises funds that give children a second chance for a happy life. This wonderful holiday event includes a viewing of uniquely decorated trees and wreaths by local designers as well as a dinner and tree auction.

Do you have a few hours to make a difference in a child's life? There are great opportunities for you to volunteer:

IN-KIND ITEM SOLICITOR
Solicit local businesses and corporations for items including gift certificates to be included with decorated trees to enhance the theme and add auction value.

TREE DECORATORS
Anyone with talent and creativity is welcome. We supply the tree, you get to decorate it. We are asking for quality decor and a festive theme. Your tree should be decorated and delivered to Gilroy Elk's Lodge the day before the event.

MARKETING VOLUNTEERS
Help distribute flyers and posters in the communities of San Juan Bautista, Gilroy and Morgan Hill; label invitations; help with Festival promotions in local media.

HOLIDAY ENTERTAINERS
Singers, musicians and holiday characters are wanted on Nov. 16 from 5:30-7:30 pm as guests arrive for the dinner and auction at Gilroy Elks Lodge.

TREE AREA VOLUNTEERS
Help keep trees safe from harm during setup and throughout the event.

SEATING USHERS
Welcome guests and guide participants to assigned seating.
