Support Services
Client Services Department
All RCS programs are accessible through the Client Services Department which provides one-stop access for the entire array of care offered by RCS. Community members and agency representatives can contact Client Services to inquire about programs or complete applications for services by phone, FAX, mail or in person. Bilingual staff reviews completed applications, verifies eligibility and assures that all referrals are handled respectfully and confidentially. Many programs maintain client waiting lists, which Client Services monitors to assure timely delivery of services. Along with the Client Services Manager, the department has a Family Involvement Coordinator and Client Services Representatives with bilingual capacity to greet all walk-in visitors and answer calls during business hours. The Client Services Department is here to serve you! If RCS does not have the service or program you are looking for, the Client Services Department will make every effort to provide you with information about resources available to you.
Health Services
A child's first glimpse of the RCS Health Services usually takes place during a Medical Assessment. Joanne Rodriguez, LVN, or Celia Sigala, RN, reviews the medical packet and meets with the child and assessment team to determine if, and how RCS can best match its services to his or her needs. Their next glimpse is usually through the lens of a Polaroid camera as the child is greeted on admission day. Nursing staff reviews all medical records to be sure we have all the documentation needed so the child can make a smooth and safe transition into RCS care. A medical chart is started, which includes all medical records received. Somehow the details of this process quickly get to be old and boring for the child and he/she is usually edging towards the doorway, eager to move on to something more interesting, like moving into a new room or meeting new friends.
Within a few days of admission every child comes to the RCS Health Services Clinic for a height, weight, and vital signs check. This is more interesting for them because they get to meet Medical Aide, Anita Ramirez, rummage through the miniature Pirate's Treasure Chest, and pick out a treasure or a small treat.
Linda Spence, Client Services Manager, oversees the Client Services department.
Dr. Ahsan Shaikh, is our on-site Psychiatrist, and Celia Sigala, RN, is Manager of Health Services, supported by Joanne Rodriguez, LVN and Anita Ramirez, Medical Aide II.
