Since 2002, our Community Counseling Center has provided comprehensive and affordable outpatient services to the community. It is vital that we focus on children's strengths (not weaknesses) and are sensitive to their cultural background and family values.
We are able to provide these services as office, in-home outpatient, and intensive outpatient therapy.
Preventative Mental Health Services
In partnership with our Prevention & Education Program, we provide individual assessment and screening, group work, and crisis intervention services at local Gilroy campuses and our facilities. We cater specifically to each individual and focus on creating healthy and appropriate surroundings for children. To round out our services, we also train others to use school facilities and consult with parents so they can provide a beneficial environment on their own.
School-Based Mental Health Services
We collaborate with the Gilroy Unified School District to offer bilingual psychiatric care to the district's diverse school children. Rather than using a general, catch-all approach, we can cater to specialized populations from prenatal to 6 years of age who are at medium-risk. We also recognize that some children will require drug and alcohol treatment, and we ensure that they are treated respectfully and as individuals.
Outpatient Intensive Mental Health Services
This model provides integrated outpatient psychotherapy, rehabilitation, and case management services. We are able to provide these services across a variety of settings including our facilities, home, school, and the general community. Taking into account our children's ages and developmental levels, we are able to determine the best course of care. If the child also requires particular medication, we are able to provide support for that as well.
First 5: Therapeutic Services
First 5 provides much of the same services as our Outpatient Intensive Mental Health Services while being specialized for children prenatal to 5 years. Children at this age have a very specific set of medical and learning needs and First 5 ensures that our services cater to them at this crucial stage of their development.
