Where your gift is needed
Risk Prevention & Education in Gilroy Schools
Funding is need to pay for prevention literature, job training, fitness, health and nutrition activities, childcare for teen parents, transportation for field trips and social activities.
Therapeutic treatment of children and families
Funding is needed to pay for therapy RCS provides to the children in its care when there are no other resources.
Major Medical Fund
Almost all children living at RCS lack private health insurance. Funds are needed to pay for their medical expenses.
Family Linkage Foster Care & Adoption Services
Not only does RCS spend enormous energy recruiting Foster Parents, but it also offers them extensive support. Funds are needed for training, respite care, and stipends to caregivers. Support is also needed to assist with adoptions.
Good Times Fund for Activities for RCS Children
RCS wants to give its children gifts, food and activities for holidays and special occasions. Donations of cash and gift certificates are needed.
Funds are needed to send children to the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Youth Camp
Non-public School
Many of the children who live at RCS are unable to attend public school. The Non-public school on RCS' campus offers them the critical education, behavioral support, and safe environment they need to succeed in their studies. Funding is needed for a computer lab, library, school supplies, equipment
and field trips.
Food Services
The Food Services Department at RCS provides three meals a day plus school snacks for Residential children, along with meals for family meetings. Donations of non-perishable food (no home-canned products), freshly picked produce, and funding to replace heavily used kitchen equipment are needed.
Building Fund
The oldest building on RCS' campus, designed by noted architect William Weeks, opened as an orphanage in 1921 and the newest - the Recreation Center was dedicated in 2000. As the demand for services increases, RCS must update existing buildings and construct new ones. There is an ongoing need for donations to the building fund.
Legacy Society
We would like to honor individuals who have included Rebekah Children’s Services in their will or other estate planning. Please consider becoming a member of our Legacy Society so that we may thank you in person now, and keep your memory in our hearts when you have passed on. We honor Legacy Society Members with an annual luncheon and we list their names in a beautiful alcove display at the entrance to our main building.
Museum
The Caroline Hoxett Museum, in the RCS administration building, displays photos and memorabilia of the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Children's Home from 1897 through the 1950s. Donations of cash and display items are gratefully accepted.
