Health Center
RCS' Community Mental Health Center provides early mental health treatment
to children identified as seriously emotionally disturbed, or who are at
risk of out-of-home / out-of-school placement. Services include outpatient
assessment, goal-directed treatment, Day Treatment, Wraparound services and
case management. Wraparound care is individualized to "wrap" services
around the unique needs, values, strengths, and social and racial makeup of
children and families in RCS' care.
In partnership with the Gilroy Unified School district, South Valley School
Health Center The Health Trust, and other local providers, RCS' Health
Center offers Gilroy children individual assessment and screening by a
Therapist, therapeutic process groups at three schools, parenting classes,
and case management. The services are designed for children showing
reactivity to psychosocial conditions and / or who are at risk of
pre-morbid, seriously emotionally disturbed (SED) conditions. The Therapist
treats children with conduct behavior problems as well as family-related
problems such as lack of communication, and lack of trust between parent and
child.
Health Center services are also offered after school to "blended"
populations that include children at risk from Gilroy Unified School
District along with clients in RCS' programs - Residential, Compadres
Wraparound and Foster Care. These include Anger Management Groups and
Relationships Groups.
All RCS community programs offer "open door" referrals to prevention groups,
therapy, and other RCS or community resources.
